Journey with Kohesia Quartet and experience the evocative sounds of acoustic Persian music. Kohesia Quartet explores unusual time structures and microtonal melodies, combining the sounds of Persian ney, daf, saz, oud and double bass for a uniquely intimate listening experience.

Having been shortlisted for 2019's Martin Sims Award, Kohesia Quartet presents a debut 'Unplugged' show which will transport you to another place.

Kate Pass is a double bassist from Perth with a passion for composing and performing original music. She has performed at an array of festivals and events in Australia and Internationally. Kate leads her own band, Kohesia Ensemble, which serves as a platform for Kate’s original compositions that explore elements of Persian music in a jazz context. Having released her debut album 'Kohesia' in 2018, Kohesia Ensemble was nominated for 2018 West Australian Music Industry’s Best Album, Best Jazz Act and Best World Act. Kohesia Ensemble was also shortlisted for the Martin Sims Award at FRINGE WORLD, 2019. Kohesia Ensemble has performed at National Folk Festival, Illawarra Folk Festival, Perth International Jazz Festival, Fairbridge Festival, WAMFest, and Nannup Music Festival.
