About this event

Are you more certain of your love for an artisanal ale than you are for the fertile genius of a certain 18th century composer? (Fertile is a key word here - he had 20 children!). Well friends, you can have your pastry, stout and eat it, too, at Bach and Beer. In Bach's day, musicians weren't pampered artistes. They were considered craftsmen who produced worthy entertainment with their hands.

At Australian Baroque, we appreciate the melange of fruit and tropical esters in a hazy IPA as much as Bach's mastery of composition. You'll get great craft beer, fresh from the source and served as the maker intended along with a captivating taste of Bach's best, also served as intended, on the instruments of Bach's day. Explore Bach's musical masterpieces in a new way: with a beverage in hand!

Presented by:
Australian Baroque

Australian Baroque is a new national ensemble and early music initiative, formed at its core by WA-based artists. We are world-class players with a spirit of investigation and historical inspiration, bringing you stunning programs and exciting, immersive projects.

Although the ensemble formed mere months ago, they are already Ensemble in Residence at the WA Academy of Performing Arts, ECU and have been recorded by ABC Classics.

Being part of the WA community is central to the aims of Australian Baroque. This is not just an orchestra for the concert hall. Our aim is to build significant and long lasting ties with both regional and metropolitan communities, performing in galleries, schools, museums, Men’s Sheds, churches, cafes, wineries, pubs and town halls.
