Scaled just stopping to eat

About this event

Ex-Masterchef Australia contestant Ben Bullock spent 2 years on a motorbike eating his way across the planet. Now he brings the mouthwatering recipes to FRINGE WORLD for you to taste and then try at home. Listen to the stories, experience the flavours and learn the deliciously simple dishes from a 35,000km journey.

Ben travelled from Perth, WA through South-East and Central Asia to Europe in search of the tastiest regional delicacies. Now you can learn some of these dishes, easily replicated at home. Ben will be demonstrating on stage, inviting audience participation (prepare for messy hands!) and sending you away with a selection of recipes to try yourself.

Lots of stories (ever wondered about Iranian prison food?) paired with a few nibbles, so come on down...at least there'll be food!!

Presented by:
Ben Bullock

Ben has had a life long addiction to good food - it's a hard habit to kick and as they say: "if you can't beat them, join them." So in 2017 that's exactly what Ben did. He left his day job, applied for Masterchef Australia and was successful. Since then he has continued his 'food journey' - literally. He spent the last 2 years travelling 35,000km around the world on a motorbike in search of the diverse and delicious regional delights that the planet has to offer.

Home only for a short while as he gears up for the next adventure and writes his recipe books - come down and catch him while you can!
