21 January – 15 February

An Italian woman sits at a piano with her smiling nonna behind her, surrounded by black-and-white photos, cream wallpaper, and a retro red lamp.
An Italian traditional dancer and a lady with a tambourine perform the Tarantella among the tables filled with audience members.
A jazz band featuring an Italian jazz singer in red and two backing vocalists perform on stage. Two dancers join them, while a big crowd dances, cheering and raising their hands.

NonnaMia!

Remember the songs Nonna used to sing to you? Now they swing!

Hear all the Italian classics, cleverly rearranged into jazz tunes, performed by the beautiful voice of Etta D’Elia and the tight groove of her jazz band. For the two shows at the State Theatre Centre of WA, a very special guest joins the family: Italian comedy star James Liotta (aka “Maria Pappagallo”) will visit from Melbourne. Expect big laughs, bigger hand gestures, and a healthy dose of Italian antics!

Perfect for a date night with your Nonna, or anyone who loves Italian culture, this is a show not to be missed! Sip a glass of vino, sing along to the classics, and laugh until your cheeks hurt. It’s really the case to say “Mamma Mia… actually, NonnaMia!”

“An incredible night filled with song!” ★★★★★ Fringefeed, 2023
