The Laugh Resort

About The Laugh Resort

Upstairs at The Shoe Bar & Café is the year-round home of Perth's longest-running comedy club, pumping out the laughs 5 days a week all FRINGE WORLD long.

This inner-city gem is neatly tucked inside one of Perth's most popular meeting places, in the city's cultural heart of Yagan Square.

Much more than just another comedy club, The Laugh Resort (est 1991) is Australia’s only known not-for-profit incorporated association run by and for the local comedy industry, meaning your ticket $ goes directly to the artists you see and supporting the next generation of WA-made comedy stars (like those before them including Hughesy, Rove, Jim Jefferies, Claire Hooper, Dave Callan, Joel Creasey and more).

With its own bar, carpeted and air-conditioned comfort, and seating for a maximum 95 people, it offers a relaxed way to Fringe in style, where every seat’s the best seat in the house.

Arrive before showtime to dine in the adjacent main bar, offering specials for show-goers and festival artists.

With a FRINGE WORLD box office and Perth Underground Station on the doorstep, there’s everything you need for hassle-free fringing under one roof (with city views)!

The Laugh Resort is an 18+ hub and minors must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian.

Location

Find The Laugh Resort inside Yagan Square, at the end of The Shoe Bar's upstairs corridor, (Mezzanine level) overlooking the Market Hall.

Getting There

As we're at the nexus of Northbridge and the CBD, if bringing the car in, you could be lucky and jag a street park or aim for one of the secure multi-stories (nearest are on Roe or Francis St).

Ride-shares can drop you at either end of Yagan Square at Wellington or Roe St, or, if you're training it in, we're right opposite Perth Underground Station.

Once you're in Yagan Square, head inside to the second (Mezzanine) level of The Shoe Bar & Cafe, through the main upstairs bar along the corridor and you'll find The Laugh Resort in the separate 'Baby Shoe' function room.
